At CELIOS, we believe learning works best when it’s shared. Our trainings bring people together to exchange ideas, build practical skills, and explore fair solutions to the challenges our communities face.
Each program is shaped by real-world issues and grounded in research, while valuing the perspectives and experiences of participants. We collaborate with journalists, workers, local governments, and aspiring diplomats to build skills, share knowledge, and explore pathways toward fairer, more sustainable futures
Tell stories that shape change. From the G20 and China’s media influence to the fragile karst landscapes of Gunung Kidul, these workshops create space for in-depth reporting that connects global issues to local realities.

Securing rights in a just energy transition. As Indonesia plans its coal phase-out, we work alongside workers and unions to discuss fair labor standards, social protection, and opportunities for re-skilling.
Designing resilient, diversified economies. In places like Morowali, we facilitate conversations with local leaders on economic diversification beyond extractive industries, drawing on both community priorities and practical examples.
Indonesia is a dynamic and complex country—politically, economically, legally, and culturally. For newly posted diplomats and local staffs, understanding the nuances of Indonesia’s domestic landscape and regional positioning is essential to navigating their roles effectively. Yet, the transition into a new post often lacks structured support to quickly and holistically understand the host country. Recognizing this gap, CELIOS organizes School for Diplomats—a two-day, intensive, expert-led program designed specifically for diplomats newly posted in Indonesia.
