In support of the legal challenge against Ministry of Education and Culture Regulation No. 2 of 2024 concerning the Standard Unit Cost for Higher Education Operational Expenses, which has burdened students through increases in Single Tuition Fees (UKT) and the imposition of various additional fees considered unreasonable, CELIOS has submitted an amicus curiae to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia.
This amicus curiae was prepared to provide an additional perspective based on in-depth analysis of the policy’s impact on student welfare and access to higher education in Indonesia. We emphasize the importance of fair education policies that do not unduly burden students and call for the regulation to be reviewed in the interests of the well-being of the nation’s future generations.
By submitting this amicus curiae, CELIOS hopes to contribute to a fair and transparent judicial process and support students in their struggle to obtain affordable, high-quality education.
