CELIOS School for Diplomats

Equipping New Diplomats with In-Depth Understanding of Indonesia Current Political and Economic Landscape

Indonesia is a dynamic and complex country—politically, economically, legally, and culturally. For newly posted diplomats and local staffs, understanding the nuances of Indonesia’s domestic landscape and regional positioning is essential to navigating their roles eectively. Yet, the transition into a new post often lacks structured support to quickly and holistically understand the host country. Recognizing this gap, Center of Economic and Law Studies (CELIOS) is proud to launch CELIOS School for Diplomats—a two-day, intensive, expert-led program designed specifically for diplomats newly posted in Indonesia.

  • Provide new diplomats and local stas with a foundational yet comprehensive overview of Indonesia’s political, economic, legal, and foreign policy systems.
  • Offer insight into key domestic actors, institutions, and recent developments that are critical to diplomatic engagement.
  • Strengthen participants’ confidence and readiness to begin their diplomatic duties with clarity and contextual understanding.
  • Serve as a trusted entry point for long-term engagement with
CELIOS and the broader Indonesian policy community.
  • Duration: 2 Full Days
  • Format: In-person workshop
  • Location: Jakarta (venue details to follow)
  • Language of Instruction: English
  • Participants: Local stas, diplomats, and international
    representatives recently posted to Indonesia
