This book explores the evolving China-Indonesia relationship throughout 2024, highlighting both achievements and challenges across various sectors. Indonesia’s push to join BRICS underscores its growing global influence, while trade with China continues to expand despite tensions in the ceramics and textiles industries. Cooperation in agriculture, technology, and renewable energy reflects both nations’ commitment to economic and environmental sustainability. Chinese investments in electric vehicles and artificial intelligence (AI) have accelerated Indonesia’s technological transformation, while joint climate research initiatives demonstrate a shared focus on sustainability. On the security front, high-level meetings have strengthened military and counterterrorism cooperation, although the South China Sea remains a point of contention. Following the format of the previous edition, this book compiles insights from reputable sources such as The Diplomat, The Conversation, and CELIOS, offering a comprehensive analysis of the opportunities and complexities shaping China-Indonesia relations in the years ahead.
