The launch of the 2025 Indonesia–MENA Perception Survey was held in Jakarta on 15 October 2025, marking the release of the first nationwide study exploring how Indonesians perceive the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The event featured Dr. Muhammad Zulfikar Rakhmat, Director of Indonesia-MENA Desk at CELIOS, Ahrul Tsani Fathurrahman, Director for the Middle East at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, and Agung Nurwijoyo M.Sc., Lecturer Secretary at the International Relations Department, FISIP UI, who shared their perspectives on Indonesia–MENA relations and the importance of aligning foreign policy with public sentiment. The survey focuses on four key areas: general awareness of MENA, Indonesia’s position on the Palestine issue, economic relations, and cultural ties, offering valuable insights to inform future cooperation between Indonesia and MENA countries.
